Lawns & Gardens

Every place that I have lived in my entire life has had a lawn and usually multiple gardens. Even when we lived in apartment buildings years ago, we had lawns. It’s part of the midwest mentality, I suppose.

I love to garden and I enjoy a nice yard. However, I was never into the “mowing” thing and for the first year after my heart transplant I wasn’t allowed to do either. My wife still won’t allow me to use the mower, which is fine with me, but I am able to garden, with precautions such as a mask & gloves.

Our son and his family live in a large, east coast city and as we walked the neighborhoods going about our daily travels, one can’t help but notice all of the beautiful flower boxes on the apartments and Brownstones. I have seen them before and may have even made comments or written about them. These are the “lawns & gardens” of those that live in large cities, with little or no space.

I could probably walk around all day taking pictures of these beautiful creations.
