What has happened to kindness?
“I expect to pass through life but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, Or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, Let me do it now, as I shall not pass this way again.” ~ Steven Grellet
Our news is filled daily with senseless acts. Awful events on small and large scales that make me shake my head in total disbelief. At times I am about to lose all hope in mankind because of this craziness.
I have often wondered has the world always been this crazy? And, if we listen to our elders, it probably always has been a crazy world to some degree. But, I think 4o or more years ago, the news didn’t come into our homes at the speed of light as it does now.
Kindness doesn’t sell newspapers, or television commercials.
Just as I begin to lose all hope in humanity, I will witness and a random act of kindness by others. A simple thing. Not something that someone did to get their name in the news, or a discount on their taxes. But, an event that makes someone’s life a little bit better, easier or enjoyable with no recognition. I try to practice kindness daily as well …… it is difficult, but it can be done.
Don’t lose hope, all of humanity is NOT crazy!!!
