National Organ Donor Day

Today, which is Valentine’s Day, is also National Organ Donor Day!!

Each day, an average of 79 people receive organ transplants. However, an average of 18 people die each day waiting for transplants that can’t take place because of the shortage of donated organs.

Today I will keep a family in my thoughts and prayers and give THANKS to them and to God for the gift I was given on May 11, 2007. (I’ve heard it’s a wonderful family in the great state of Tennessee, but that’s never been confirmed.)

I hope that you are a donor! If not, please visit this site and you can sign up in about two minutes. http://www.organdonor.gov/index.html
