I love quotes from others, but today I’ll quote myself ………
“Second chances have NO expiration date. If you get a second chance, you can maintain it by starting each day with a prayer, sharing your second chance with others, and ending the day by giving thanks.” ~ DAP, aka My2ndHeartBeat
Lots of people get second chances in life. They beat substance abuse, illness, financial or personal issues. Second chances are the main theme of many movies. Second chances are rare, but the are a part of life.
Recently I was having a philosophical, wine induced discussion with a friend and I was asked about my thoughts on “second chances” ….. even third and fourth chances. Does God grant us second chances, or is it karma, destiny, fate, our life’s path. Or, perhaps it’s just simple luck???? Don’t know for sure, but my FAITH is always in God. And that’s where we left the discussion.
Have I had early “second chances” in my life? Well, I have dodged a bullet or two in my life but NOTHING came close to my ultimate “second chance”, my “rebirth” as my heart transplant recipient. That was the TRUE second chance for me …..not like retaking a test in school, or escaping death by mere seconds …. the heart transplant was a TOTAL reset for me. My life was REBOOTED!! My hard drive was reformatted and partitioned ….. God pushed that red “reset” button on my back for reason.
I’m forever grateful for this second chance at life ….. I’m living life now like never before.
Maybe we do get multiple second chances …. but we never know when our LAST chance will be. So tell those that you love, “I love you” at EVERY opportunity.
Life is good, ENJOY it!!
