Christmas Memories

“Life brings tears, smiles and memories. The tears dry, the smiles fade but the memories last forever.”

As another Christmas has come and gone, there are new memories of this season, just as there are with each new Christmas. Little kids laughing and running around on a “sugar high” at warp speed, opening gifts, an occasional battle, a tear, a smile, then more laughing. The good food, a sip of wine, a song sung, a reading from the bible.

Memories, to last a lifetime.

And, in these memories, it is important to me to ALWAYS remember my donor and my donor family.

Every Christmas, I sit with my family and we have much joy in celebrations, no matter how large or small they might be.

But, at the same time, there is always a bit of “realism” in my thoughts. What about that family that lost their loved one, on that fateful day in May of 2007? I can’t answer and I can’t even speculate about my donor family and their level of joy or happiness. But I NEVER forget them!

All I can do, is what I do each and every day …… give deep gratitude and thanks to God for my blessings and I ask him to watch over this family and protect them. In my soul, I honor my donor and their family as if each and every day was Christmas.

May God Bless our donors and donor families each and every day!
