“Without the organ donor, there is no story, no hope, no transplant. But when there is an organ donor, life springs from death, sorrow turns to hope, and terrible loss becomes a gift.” ~ UNOS
This quote, above, is on the right side of the page on the online edition of this blog, email readers may not have seen it before.
Who are organ donors or organ donor families?
Perhaps, they are people who can give without thinking about receiving.
They are motivated that their own death, might bring a chance at a better life for others.
They want to help others.
They are people who don’t believe the MYTHS about organ donation ….. that doctors won’t work very hard to save you in an emergency, which is TOTALLY false.
They are people who maybe think of others a bit more than themselves.
They know the value of a true gift.
They are tall and short people, Big and small. Lots of hair, no hair. They are poor and wealthy. They are of all skin colors, all religions, both sexes, and ALL religions. They have unblemished skin or many marks of living life.
They are people with a good soul!
They care!!
They can see a glimmer of hope for others at the most terrible times in their own lives.
They love others, as much as themselves.
THEY ARE HEROES!
And, they are NEVER forgotten!!
May God always bless my anonymous heart donor and his or her family.
