“Dear heart, please stop getting involved in everything. Your job is to pump blood.”
We all know that our hearts pump the blood, but some hearts need EXTRA help to pump the blood. A LVAD (Left Ventricle Support Device) is a mechanical pump implanted in folks to help support left heart function.
I know from looking at my blog’s statistics that I get a lot of folks stopping by here while apparently searching for information on the LVAD which is quickly becoming a life saver for many people with end stage heart disease or other serious heart issues. While it might not be ideal for all, it keeps many people ALIVE!!!
While I personally never had the LVAD I see people each week on VAD’s while volunteering at the hospital. Many of these folks are using the LVAD as a bridge to a heart transplant.
It is an amazing piece of equipment.
The purpose of this post is to simply share with LVAD folks that there is a Facebook Group for the LVAD community. If you are on Facebook, you could search “LVAD Friends” or click this link LVAD Friends.
