2,222

Four deuces …. Two Thousand, Two Hundred, Twenty-Two …. MMCCXXII

2,222 days ago I had a heart transplant. Of those 2,222 days only a small handful have not been that great. Virtually every day I have is good in some respect and I value each and every day.

Of those 2,222 days, I’ve said thanks to God literally countless times! Thanks for all that I have been blessed with …. from family … friends … a place to sleep, to the bird singing outside my window. It’s all good.

I was in awe when I regained consciousness …. and I remain in awe today of this journey we call life.

Even the days where I don’t feel that great, or not everything goes perfectly …. there is a lot to be thankful for, a lot to pray for …. family, friends and the less fortunate.

Life is good …… Enjoy it, give thanks for it, love it!!

“Sometimes, life gives you a second chance because just maybe the first time you weren’t ready.”

There is an old poker saying — Deuces never louces. Congrats! Hope you are around for 22,222. Now THAT would be way AWESOME!

18,000 more days is pretty unrealistic. My goal is to dance with my grand daughter at her wedding …. and she’s only 5 right now. So, maybe another 20 to 25 years!! Be well, Chief!!
