myHeart, yourHands Update

About 18 months ago I wrote a post (Read it HERE) about a couple of friends of mine, Stephanie & Judy, that have a non-profit organization called myHeart, yourHands.

This month, is their fund-raising month (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) and if you follow me on Twitter ( @NewHeart1293 ) you will frequently see me “RT’ing” (Re-Tweeting) many of Stephanie’s posts.

A little ….well, let’s call is HUGE update about them ….. Judy had been waiting for a new heart for 42 months and 2 days, and this past Thursday, she got “THE CALL” and was successfully transplanted, and is doing well!! (God Bless her and God Bless her donor and donor family)

As Judy got THE CALL, Stephanie drove north to Cleveland OH to be with her friend at this amazing time in her life. Thus, I’ve been getting constant updates from Judy’s family and Stephanie. (Yesterday, I had the opportunity to stop by the hospital and see Stephanie and all of Judy’s beautiful family. See pic below)

I’m asking that you visit their myHeart, yourHands website – http://www.myheartyourhands.org/

Stop by and LIKE  their FacebookPages –  https://www.facebook.com/lateeffects or  https://www.facebook.com/SecondSecondChance?hc_location=stream

And, most importantly, if you have an extra dollar or two, support their mission here ~ https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=i_HbXKnj0GVFZ1k1mQev0rGOD1Xd3SFot_QbfpDoPqvoY7Lg1k3a1Bb48yq&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d48a116ba977951b3435308b8c4dd4ef1

You are truly an amazing man. You make the transplant that others get seem as equally important as if you were getting one yourself. Maybe that comes with actually being a heart transplant recipient (which I do not what to experience first hand) or you are simply compassionate. God bless you.

Carmen, just knowing that someone else has made that trip from despair to hope is a feeling that is beyond incredible. I’ve shared many a tear with “heart transplant family” members. God bless our donors!!
