Planes, Trains and Automobiles

“Traveling tends to magnify all human emotions.” — Peter Hoeg

Tomorrow, My2ndHeartBeat heads out into the unknown. First we will travel 435 miles by automobile, followed a few days later with a long plane ride and finally a train ride that will add another 3,990 miles to the final destination.

I love the above quote, because we’ve been working on the planning of this trip for two months. My emotions have been magnified …. I’m happy to go, to spend time with family, excited simply explore a far away place and meet new people. But at the same time I’ve worried and fretted about being that far away from the “Mothership” (my transplant center). I’ve worried about when to take my meds with a five time zone change, plus packing enough of the meds. (See picture below) I’ve worried about my diet while there and a host of other things.

I spoke to my transplant doctors and coordinators …. I was given a few tips and told to relax, go and have fun.

So, maybe I will simply embrace what the professionals tell me ….. and live life.

I plan on continued posts, but who knows with time changes, energy levels, grand kids and unknown internet access.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!

May God Bless all of you!!
