“Take me on a trip upon your magic swirling ship.”
~ The Byrds, Mr. Tambourine Man
And what a trip it was. Almost 10,000 miles on 2 jets, 7 trains, 2 tour buses, and countless taxi cabs and vans. Plus the 900 mile round trip drive to the East Coast to leave. 7 people in total, carrying 20 bags. (My son WAY over packed!)
It was fun, it was exhausting, it was emotional ….. the French Alps were amazing, as was Paris on New Year’s Eve and a forced side trip to London (caused by bad weather in the Eastern US) was a fabulous addition.
Great food, but I actually lost about a 1/2 a pound.
Would I do it again? Oh my, YES, I would …… after I rest up for a while.
We took over 1,200 pictures … of course, because the grand kids were there.
All of my fears about taking my meds were unfounded …… needless worry. Had a plan, stuck to it and all went well.
Side note …. every day, every new discovery I would whisper to my anonymous donor’s spirit and THANK him/her once again and ask if they saw “that” or liked whatever it was at that point. My donor was constantly on my mind. Emotional for sure, but without him/her, this trip …. the past 6-1/2 years would never have been possible. Praise God and my donor!!
