Eight Years – A Bittersweet Day

“Now that I have opened that bottle of memories they’re pouring out like wine, crimson and bittersweet.”

~ Ellen Hopkins

Eight years ago today the Doctors and nurses finished placing a new heart inside of me.

There have been tears and fears, laughs and smiles, pain and rejoicing.

There has also been never ending, daily GRATITUDE to God, to my donor, to my donor family, to my family, my friends, my doctors, nurses, social workers, technicians and to all the people that have touched my life.

It’s a happy day, a bit of a sad day ….. quite bittersweet. And, it is always a THANKFUL day.

Thankful for every heartbeat!
