Come To Me

“Come To Me” is a song performed by the Goo Goo Dolls and has been a favorite of mine since it was released a couple of years ago. While it is a beautiful song about love between a couple, it is also could be about the beautiful love between an organ donor and recipient.

Only an organ recipient can know the depths of love for his or her donor.

This is the official video for this song, in case you don’t remember it – VIDEO!

Let me show you how my (drug induced) brain works … this is how I see these lyrics –

I’ll be kind, if you’ll be faithful
You be sweet and I’ll be grateful
Cover me with kisses dear
Lighten up the atmosphere
Keep me warm inside our bed
I got dreams of you all through my head
Fortune teller said I’d be free
And that’s the day you came to me
Came to me

[My2ndHB – God has a plan for both of us. We are a match, let’s relax , let the love flow and stay warm on the operating table …. today was the day I “got the call” and you came to me.]

Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo

Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
I’ll take you back where you belong
And this will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I’ll love you more so don’t be scared
When we’re old and near the end
We’ll go home and start again

[My2ndHB – We are both at the end of the road, near death, we both have secrets, souls and hearts touched, we both are filled with love. God’s hands we’ll take us and give us a rebirth. You truly gave me your heart.]

Ooo Ooo Oooo, Ooo Ooo Oooo

I caught you burnin’ photographs
Like that could save you from your past
History is like gravity
It holds you down away from me
You and me, we’ve both got sins
I don’t care about where you’ve been
Don’t be sad and don’t explain
This is where we start again
Start again

[My2ndHB – My donor has a history and tries to hide it, but ohhhh, so do I ….. God doesn’t care, we don’t need to be sad, nor explain ….. this will be a rebirth.]

Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
I’ll take you back where you belong
And this will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I’ll love you more so don’t be scared
When we’re old and near the end
We’ll go home and start again
Start again

[My2ndHB – We are both at the end of the road, near death, we both have secrets, …. souls and hearts touched, we both are filled with love. God’s hands we’ll take us and give us a rebirth. You truly gave me your heart.]

Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo

Today’s the day I’ll make you mine
So get me to the church on time
Take my hand in this empty room
You’re my girl, and I’m your groom

Come to me my sweetest friend
This is where we start again, again

[My2ndHB – Today we will blend together, we are both here in this surgical suite, our souls touch and we will be joined together forever.]

Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
Take you back where you belong
This will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I’ll love you more so don’t be scared
When we’re old and near the end
We’ll go home and start again (yeah)
Start again (yeah)

[My2ndHB – We are both at the end of the road, near death, we both have secrets, souls and hearts touched, we both are filled with love. God’s hands we’ll take us and give us a rebirth. You truly gave me your heart.]

Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo
