Prostate Cancer Awareness

“I’ve got a prostate the size of a honeydew and a head full of bad memories.”

~ Jerry Stiller

No Shave November is “National Awareness Month” for prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.

Even though I personally don’t buy into the “no shave” part, I do urge all men to at least go and have their PSA and prostate checked annually after the age of 35. That one little blood test and simple exam could save your life. One in seven men will get it and 1 in 39 will die from it.

I just returned from visiting my urologist in regard to my chronic high PSA. Over the years they’ve monitored me I’ve been through three rounds of biopsies and a few high tech tests. No cancer, and yet a high, but STABLE PSA. And, a normal prostate.

Men go get yourselves checked …. ladies, please encourage your man to go get checked.

Cancer is an ugly business.
