“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. …And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.”
~ 1 Corinthians 13
For me, today is the ultimate day of LOVE.
The day itself may be like any other day in your life …… The darkness of night gives way to the morning light. You will do whatever you do on a daily basis ….. work, go to school, exercise, watch TV, cook, go out to eat or a million other things.
But for me, I will take some extra time and to ponder and reflect on LOVE today, as well as say a few extra prayers of thanks. I delayed my normal day of volunteering, until tomorrow to enjoy this day of LOVE.
We all know that Valentine’s Day is the day of LOVE …….
And, today is Ash Wednesday …. as it is the first day of Lent in many religions, it leads up to the death and Resurrection of Christ …. and his LOVE for mankind.
But, today is also a day of LOVE for mankind through organ donation, hence National Donor Day …. a day to remember and honor those that have saved lives through their amazing gifts ……. the ultimate gift of LOVE.
Today I will say extra prayers for the person that gave me everything, and for his or her family as well. My donor is one of the most important people in my life. The gift I was given has truly been an amazing gift of LOVE.
So today, as we actually should do EVERY day, please spread LOVE …….. to your family. your friends, and to people you don’t know as well. And if you are not a registered organ donor, I ask you to please register …… all it takes is a little LOVE.
I LOVE YOU!
PS: It is also Women’s Heart Health Month …. remind those women that you LOVE.
And ……… It is also the first day of Spring Training for baseball – a LOVE of mine!
