4,000 Days of Gratitude, Hope and Faith

“My words in your mouth, finishing my phrase
It’s no surprise
That over these last four thousand days
You have become the one who can read my eyes”

~ Allie Moss, Let It Go
 .
Four thousand days ago today, I was blessed to have received the heart of a HERO
 .
Other than a handful of days when I was unconscious at the beginning of this transplant journey, I have said prayers of gratitude and gratefulness each morning and night. I keep my donor and his/her family in my thoughts with each day …… especially when a new memory is made ….. life is celebrated …… when I can touch others in a positive manner.
.
I’ve been able to to laugh and cry, to travel, to see future generations grow and older generations pass …… and simply LIVE. The moments …. the moments and memories I’ve made in the past 4,000 days are priceless.
.
All of this was possible because someone cared enough to say YES to organ donation.
 .

Thank you Lord (and my HERO) for this amazing gift you bestowed upon me.

Never giving up – Hope and Faith – On May 31, 2012, which was almost 6 years ago, I wrote a post called “An Emotional Time, Times 2”, which can be seen HERE. It had to do with the death of a friend waiting for a heart transplant and that I had been notified that my donor’s family had moved and there was no updated address to forward my notes and cards. As I was writing the above post this 4,000th morning post heart transplant, I received an email from my “OPO” (Organ Procurement Organization) that there has been a recent address update from my donor’s family and, if they desire, the cards and thank you’s will be forwarded. Thank You Lord for another blessing.
