Happy Birthday to a HERO!

And since I know today is your birthday, you will be on my mind ALL day.

I had been living for almost eleven years with a heart loaned to me by a hero. During that time, I would often think and ask myself, “When is my donor’s birthday?”. I never had the answer, so I would look to the heavens and say a prayer for my donor and his family. The thoughts of my donor were and still are, daily. Then, days before my 11th heart anniversary, an amazing event happened and I was connected with my donor’s family.

One of the things I learned about Benny Keith, was that today, Dec 15th, was his birthday. And, today for the first time, I will celebrate his birth and his life through prayers of extreme thanks, and never-ending gratitude. To have this hero’s heart beating in my chest is breath-taking and awe inspiring. For God’s reasons, Benny Keith and I are connected for ever. And I shall NEVER forget!
