4,444 Days of Gratitude

HeartDate – #4,444

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

~ Albert Schweitzer

On May 11th, 2007, exactly 4,444 days ago my “light” did, literally and figuratively, go OUT. A team of the ABSOLUTE best, Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, Clinicians, Social Workers and many, many others fought valiantly to keep me alive. My light was rekindled by the “spark” that my donor left inside the heart he gave me after his last breath on that fateful day.

My donor, Benny Keith and his family, have been in my thoughts and my prayers every day since I regained consciousness. My heart and soul are filled with never-ending gratitude for this man and this amazing gift I was given.

Thank you, Benny Keith and God … Always in my heart, FOREVER in my soul!
