The 40th Birthday of My Hero

“You’ve been residing inside me, as my pillar of strength and support. You were the angel sent from the heavens ….. Happy Birthday my HERO”

~ DAP

40 years ago today ……..

A HERO was born. He was born into an amazing family and lived a life of love, of hope and of prayer. When his life was cut short on May 9, 2007 many mourned him. As time passed, he was never forgotten by neither his family nor by myself.

Benny Keith Ward has been my hero since the first few days when I regained consciousness in the ICU. He is with me always, he is a part of me, he is and ALWAYS will be my HERO.

Happy Birthday to my HERO!

  1. I’m enjoying this blog, as your zest for life filled with gratitude jumps out & inspires me!
I have a close friend I’ve known for 20+ years & he had his second heart transplant this past March in Rochester – Mayo Health in Minnesota! His story is amazing & full of HOPE. I need to connect him with you, as your meaningful words & living your life to the fullest is incredible! You are a MIRACLE.

I have met a few people through volunteering, that have had two transplants …. and one guy that had THREE! Yes, I am filled with gratitude ……. to God, my HERO donor, friends and family and my transplant team. It has been an AMAZING journey! He can get a hold of me through this blog.
