Moderna Covid Vaccine, 2nd Dose

Chasing the Vaccine, episode number TWO …….. about a month ago, I wrote THIS POST about chasing the Covid-19 vaccine and getting my first dose. This week, I got my second dose and I have a bit of an update.

We received the second dose of the Moderna vaccine this week. The process was very easy and we truly had minimal side effects. As with the first dose, we both had a sore shoulder. The second dose being a bit more sore, but not unbearable on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d call it a one, or less.

Also, the day before the second dose I went and had labs done for a Johns Hopkins C-19 antibody study for people with solid organ transplants. The labs were take 27 days AFTER the first dose, and I have NOT developed antibodies at this point. This is not unusual and I’ll have labs again in another month and then two months later.

Thankful that we were able to get this vaccine and thus far all is OK. We are looking forward to getting some sense of normalcy back in our lives.

Thank God all went well in that second vaccine. My mom is 86, she took it and said the only side effect she had was it made her feel a little tired. Thanks for the update…Blessings and Peace.

Glad she did well too. Apparently, the Moderna vaccine can be a bit rougher on women.
