Fifteen Years Ago Today; 4/28/2007

Sat, 4/28/2007 ….. I remember snippets of the day. Woke up, normal Saturday morning. After puttering around the house for a short time I went into our den to download pictures of a recent trip to Florida from my camera to our PC. I remember seeing picture number 45 load ………

The next thing I remember was seeing all of these black boots (3 pairs in reality) as I laid face down on the carpet, I had had a massive heart attack (no pains nor symptoms), my face smashed into my desk on my way to the floor, my spouse called 9-1-1, started CPR and the paramedics arrived a few minutes later. I remember the ride to our local hospital about 10 blocks away. No siren. I remember the paramedics asking if I had been drinking/partying the evening before. The answer was NO.

I remember having a heart cath, doctors tell me I’d been having by-pass surgery, most likely on Monday and then getting settled in what I remember as being a very small private room. I had a very nice nurse, by the name of Nikki.

More to follow……..
